Jul 17, 2023Former Pat Mitchell's Ice Cream Shop to Become Craft Brewery
Craft beer soon will be brewed at the site of what once was a Pat Mitchell's ice cream shop in Endicott.
Crooked Mouth Brewing is setting up shop in a building at 231 Vestal Avenue, just west of the former Kmart Plaza.
Although the building was used as an ice cream parlor for a time, it originally was constructed in the 1960s for use as Endicott's first McDonald's restaurant.
The property was acquired just over a year ago by Crooked Holdings LLC of Vestal.
Josh Olson and Sean Campbell are partners in the craft brewery project. Olson said he and Campbell are excited that they'll be brewing some beer after putting in a lot of work to prepare the site for the business.
Olson said the establishment will have five tables for seating, along with about 20 bar seats. He said a limited menu of sandwiches will be offered.
Once the place has been inspected by the health department, Olson said they'll be able to start producing beer. He hopes that will happen within the next couple of weeks.
Olson said he expects Crooked Mouth Brewing will be able to open in the last week of October or the first week of November.
