How to Upgrade Weapons

Dave the Diver includes several different weapons that you can take with you when you dive, and you can enhance them by upgrading their damage, ammo, and more through Duff's shop. Note that you must reach Chapter 2 in the main quests before you can upgrade weapons through Duff's shop.

In Chapter 2, Duff will contact you about acquiring materials to upgrade your weapons, and after that, you'll be able to upgrade your weapons by visiting Duff's shop through your phone.

Some weapons, particularly the Net Gun and Hush Dart, only have a straight line for upgrades. Each version gives you a better effect and more ammo.

Other weapons, such as the Triple Axel and Basic Underwater Rifle, can also be upgraded with different elements like Poison and Shock. You can see the materials you need to upgrade each weapon in Duff's shop, but they usually require Gold, Fragments, the original weapon, and some sort of special material.

These upgrades are permanent. If you want to, for example, change from a Shock Underwater Rifle to a Flame Underwater Rifle, you'll need to craft a new Basic Underwater Rifle and upgrade it to the Flame version. Both versions will be in your inventory afterward.

You can also pick up temporary upgrades on your dives. You can find these in weapon caches, and they'll level up your gun one time for the duration of the dive.
